Abe's Words Special Comment - Rebecca Black - Friday
As many of you have seen by now. There is a music video of a song called "Friday" by a young artists named Rebecca Black. The reason most of you have seen this video is because you were told "how awful or how stupid" this song is and why was it even made. I am one of those viewers and I too said to myself this song is silly. To say it shouldn't have been made. Possibly. But there are many by well known artists that we can also say that about. Lyrically it's not Bob Dylan. But I don't think that was the purpose of this song. To those of you who listen to Justin Beiber or Miley Cyrus and then turn around and bash this song. Know that you're all in the same boat. But opinions are opinions and like it or not we can choose what we want to like. As bad as it might make the artist feel that you don't like his or her song. It's another to use that dislike and turn it into hurtful or threatening words. I've read comments on the youtube video of people going as far as saying she should die. Saying how bad it is or parodying it is one thing. Wishing bodily harm or worse because of a silly song? Is it really that easy to turn someone into a killer? As of this posting the video is at 27 million views. Last week it was at 2 million. If you don't like it then stop watching.
